My Story

Eddafy is the answer to hundreds of my prayers. It is the gift I received when I asked for guidance.

Where do I belong? What am I doing here? How can I be of service to the world? Where can I house my ideas?

I searched far and wide for a proper outlet. The requirements were simple: to be challenged and creative, to help others, and to utilize the skills and experiences I'd already collected. I found no such suitor.

Eventually, the message became clear: do it yourself, make it your own, pave the way and the rest will follow. Ahead of me lay a single option, bound with endless opportunity. Ignited by the words of my favorite poet, I walked towards it. "There is no other way. And there never was." (Charles Bukowski)

In March 2026, I welcomed Eddafy into the world. It is very much still in its infancy, which means plenty of room of grow.

It's a dirt, washboard road but the path is clear.

Eddafy: Origins & Etymology

Eddafy is the binding of two words: Edda and Edify.

In a nutshell, “Edda” is an Old Norse term that references the two main sources of Scandinavian mythology--the Poetic (Elder) Edda and the Prose (Younger) Edda.

Since the discovery of these manuscripts in the 11th and 13th centuries, their origin stories have amassed long-winded debates and speculation. Despite being two distinct literary works, the shared name is a nod to the confusion their inception seethed amongst scholars and readers alike.

More simply but equally rich in definition, edify means to build, instruct, improve.

To lift and enlighten--edify is the strengthening of a spirit. Be it a community or individual, the basic requirement is to leave or be left in an improved condition.

The ongoing contention of the Eddas reminds me of history at large. The answer to any inquiry depends on who you ask and what they had for breakfast.

Edda + Edify = Eddafy is less of a solution than it is a resolution. One without fixed answers and quick-fixes. It’s tribute to a silly question and my steadfast answer.

What’s the secret to life? Make it your own.
